Northern Virginia continues to be the largest hub of data centers on the planet due to many factors such as tax incentives, favorable energy prices, and network connectivity. About 25% of the data centers in Virginia are located outside of Northern Virginia. Use the map below to see in which localities data centers are located and the total number in the locality.

Note: There is no centralized or regulated source for registering data centers. As a result, the data in the chart and in the text at the top of this post are incomplete. A small portion — about 5 percent — of the Virginia data centers that Data Center Map has in its database are missing locations; those records are missing from this map.
